National Grid will this week withdraw its remaining LNG stocks from its storage facility in Partington, near Manchester in England.
Less than 13 million cubic metres of LNG will be pumped into Great Britain’s gas network to prevent it becoming stranded in the storage tanks.
A fast decline in the quality of the LNG at Partington has been cited as the reason for the withdrawal, with assessments showing that it will soon fail to meet the gas quality limits for gas intended for delivery into the GB network.
