China imported 34% more LNG in March than a year earlier.

The country brought in 1.13 million tonnes of the fuel last month, which also represented a 36% rise on February’s imports of 832,392 tonnes.

LNG term and spot supply costs also rose to $535 per tonne from around $430 per tonne in March of the previous year, according to Bloomberg.

China purchased four spot cargoes in March from Yemen, Trinidad and Tobago, and Russia.
