Chile looks set to boost LNG imports by 30% over last year despite its biggest terminal only operating at base-load capacity for most of 2011.

Volumes are expected to hit 138 billion cubic feet by year-end, according to Waterbourne Energy analyst Andres Rojas.

Cargoes are split between the GDF Suez-controlled Mejillones terminal and BG’s GNL Quintero to the south, with the former due to bring in 30 Bcf over the year and Quintero 108 Bcf.
