Three Asian buyers reported massive monthly jumps in LNG imports, with China’s May intake more than doubling.
China’s National Development and Reform Commission reported that the nation took in 2.6 billion cubic metres of the fuel during the month, a 130% leap on May 2010 numbers.
It was a 0.6% increase on April’s imports.
The country’s LNG consumption is due to expand further as China National Offshore Oil Corporation and PetroChina bring new terminal capacity online this year.
