Greek-Cypriot owner Andreas Hadjiyiannis is said to be buying the third in a series of post-panamax boxships from NYK Line.
His company, Cyprus Sea Lines (CSL), has been linked to the acquisition of the 6,492-teu NYK Apollo (built 2002).
Market sources told TradeWinds that the vessel changed hands for $500,000 below its scrap value, which suggests a sale price of as low as $12m.
