A judge in California has recommended handing Mitsui OSK Lines a victory against a Chinese freight forwarder in a lawsuit over alleged fraud and misrepresentation in a raft of shipments.
The report by US Magistrate Judge Kandis Westmore, who sits in the federal court in San Francisco, recommends a default judgment of about $1.09m against Shanghai-based CB Freight International. The final decision, however, is in the hands of higher ranking District Judge Haywood Gilliam.
