Louis Dreyfus Commodities is accusing India's Uttam Galva Steels of failing to live up to its side of two contracts of affreightment (COAs).
The French trader and bulker operator has lodged a federal lawsuit in a US federal court aiming to seize some $6.73m in assets to cover its losses from the alleged breach.
Louis Dreyfus has also launched arbitration against Uttam Galva.
