A US judge has put a freeze on litigation against Hanjin Shipping across the country’s federal court system.
But after a court hearing over the South Korean ship operator’s Chapter 15 bankruptcy in New Jersey lasted into the evening, the order is only provisional and leaves further wrangling ahead.
US Bankruptcy Judge John Sherwood ordered that litigants cannot file or continue litigation against Hanjin, nor can they take actions against its assets or arrest its vessels.
