A passenger on a Baja Ferries-owned ropax that suffered a fire off Puerto Rico has filed a $1.2m lawsuit over the incident, the fourth to hit the court docket amid expectations that more are to come.
Yolanda Rodriguez de Payano is also targeting the Mexican owner’s Puerto Rico affiliate, America Cruise Ferries, and an undisclosed insurance company over the 16 August casualty on the 950-passenger Caribbean Fantasy (built 1989).
