The US Defense Department’s new blacklistings stretch further into China’s maritime industrial complex than just the country’s largest shipowner and shipbuilder.
The latest additions to the Pentagon’s list of Chinese military companies include the world’s largest container manufacturer, a major construction firm specialising in port development and a significant shareholder in a ship leasing company.
The list includes China International Marine Containers (Group), a government-controlled manufacturer.
