Trade groups representing the shipping industry offered full-throated praise for the move to limit the industry's carbon dioxide output, even if the actual roadmap for doing so remains unclear.
As reported by TradeWinds, the International Maritime Organisation's 72nd meeting of the Marine Environment Protection Committee wrapped in London today with plans to require shipowners to reduce their carbon emissions by 50% from 2008 levels over the next 32 years.
