A UK court has ruled that an Oxygen Maritime-controlled tanker can be taken to Singapore for arrest and sale after it went "on the run" from creditor TMF Trustee.
High court justice Andrew Baker said that since April, if not earlier, the 37,000-dwt Megacore Honami (built 2010) had led, on evidence for the most part not challenged, "essentially a renegade existence, unable to trade or, therefore, generate income, for the most part drifting aimlessly, seeking to conceal her location and generally 'on the run' from the inevitable and lawful desire" of the claimant to arrest it and secure potential claims.
