Saevik family-controlled Havila Kystruten has been fined by the Norwegian government over the delayed entry into service of a cruise ferry caught up in a sanctions nightmare.

The Oslo-listed owner said it had received a letter from the ministry of transport notifying it of a NOK 7.75m ($750,000) penalty.

This relates to the period from the 15,500-gt, 640-berth Havila Polaris’ (built 2022) first missed trip from Bergen on 29 December up to 31 January.
