Nigeria is calling for the prosecution of Danish forces following a fatal gun battle last year linked to anti-piracy efforts.
The West African country’s ministry of foreign affairs wants an official apology from Denmark and a trial of personnel from the frigate Esbern Snare that were involved in the killings of four suspected Nigerian pirates.
The ministry has also asked for the release of a 40-year-old Nigerian national being tried in Denmark on a charge of endangering life.
