A possible new trend is emerging in India as seafarers who have been injured on the job are obtaining admiralty arrests of vessels belonging to their former employers to secure payment of compensation claims.
Lawyers in the South Asian country say there have recently been several cases where aggrieved seafarers obtained arrest warrants under admiralty jurisdiction through the Indian courts.
