Murphy Marine Services is chasing two Dole-connected reefers, alleging the fruit company owes it $1.58m.
In two lawsuits filed in the last week, the stevedoring company alleged Dole has refused to pay terminal usage fees levied at the Port of Wilmington in Delaware after the facility was turned over to Gulftainer USA in 2018.
Murphy says it agreed to front Dole the fees, assessed on every container loaded or discharged, and that Dole acknowledged that it was responsible for paying Murphy back.
