The head of Bouchard Transportation says a letter in which he blamed the US Coast Guard (USCG) and class society ABS for the tug and barge operator’s troubles was stolen from a company computer.
In the letter, from one of the litany of lawsuits against the Long Island tug and barge operator over the last year, chief executive Mort Bouchard III said the duo sought to destroy the century-old company in the wake of a 2017 explosion onboard one of its barges, that the company was scaling back operations and that its future was uncertain.
