The American Club has filed a $3.4m legal claim against the owners of a grounded cargo ship abandoned by its crew after it started to list off the coast of Romania.
The protection and indemnity club alleges the 6,113-gt Nordea Star (built 1995) went to sea “in laden condition with inadequate stability” before running into trouble in the Black Sea in January 2024.
