A US federal judge has sided with Active Shipping & Management, freeing one of its tankers in the ongoing, global dispute between it and a loan buyer over ship mortgages in default.
US District Judge Brian Jackson ruled on Tuesday that Nassau Maritime Holdings Designated Activity company could not attach Active's 115,406-dwt Riverside (built 2009) to cover $124m in claims it has on loans acquired by HSH Nordbank in 2019.
