International Seaways has picked off six VLCCs from Gener8 following a deal related to its proposed merger with Euronav.
Seaways, which has repeatedly voiced confidence in its fleet renewal efforts, has paid $434m for the tankers.
In a statement confirming the transaction, Seaways says the deal involves five tankers built in 2016 and one launched the previous year, all from Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding.
