International Seaways is being strongly tipped to have made its first VLCC purchase since it was unwound from Overseas Shipholding Group.
New York-listed International Seaways is named by several tanker market sources as the buyer of the 318,300 Gener8 Zeus (built 2010).
TradeWinds reported earlier this week that Gener8 was in the process of selling the ship at a price of around $53m, which is considered a healthy data point in today’s market.
