Wilson Europe has called for shipowners to seek higher deductibles in a post-renewal analysis of the protection and indemnity market.
The insurance broker argues that against the background that club attitudes are likely to harden over the coming year, even a modest increase in deductibles will yield significant financial benefits.
It sees higher deductibles as beneficial to both members and clubs as they “will reduce very expensive dollar swapping and bureaucracy”.
