A tanker that ran aground in Indonesia last year has no links with a “shadow fleet” insurer after shifting to new ownership in January, according to its technical manager.
The Cameroon-flagged 160,240-dwt Liberty (built 2000) was stuck for more than a week in December with a Venezuelan oil cargo loaded while transmitting a false position, according to maritime intelligence company Pole Star.
