The capsize of a deepwater pipelayer after a collision in South East Asian waters is being described as another blow to the embattled marine insurance market.
The partial sinking of the 147-metre S-lay deepwater pipelayer Star Centurion (built 2002) is the latest in a spate of accidents involving ships since the beginning of the year that is set to send protection and indemnity clubs' claims soaring and has left them little room for negotiation in renewal talks with owners.
