The Standard Club, managed by Charles Taylor, has decided to close its Lloyd’s syndicate 1884 and put it into run-down from next year.
The move comes following heavy losses since the Standard Club entered the Lloyd’s market in 2015 and a threat from Lloyd’s management this year that poorly performing syndicates need to shape up or ship out of the market.
