The North of England Protecting & Indemnity Association has rung up a $19.8m profit in a year of notable tonnage growth.
The Newcastle-based club regained its position as the second-biggest of the P&I clubs in terms of owners’ tonnage, with 142 million gt on the books. A further 53 million gt of chartered business lifted the total insured fleet to 195 million gt — an increase of five million gt over the year.
