AP Moller-Maersk’s call for a more competitive pricing structure at the International Group fits a wider strategy of leveraging its considerable market clout to reduce its costs.
Reflecting Maersk’s determination to keep its insurance costs low, it moved much of its hull and machinery cover earlier this year from Lloyd’s of London syndicate XL Catlin to Arendal-based marine insurance powerhouse Gard.
