Shipowners' use of low-sulphur fuel oil in about a year's time to comply with IMO 2020 guidelines has maritime insurers scratching their heads a bit.
"Indeed, in regard to the sulphur cap, there are generally concerns as to whether issues of fuel compliance may create problems with engine breakdowns, the knock-in effect in terms of hull and P&I claims," he said.
