Insurance broker Aon believes shipowners are increasingly migrating to the financially stronger clubs, which is widening the gap between the giants and minnows of the protection and indemnity insurance industry.
In its summer P&I review, Aon said that in recent years the industry’s largest clubs including Gard, Britannia and Steamship Mutual have seen growth, while at the other end of the scale, the London P&I Club and Japan P&I Club have shrunk.
