More than one-third of casualty investigation reports are missing key data, including the identities of companies with a stake in the stricken vessel, according to the International Maritime Organization.
An IMO committee reviewed 37 marine safety investigation reports and found that only 23, or 62%, met the required standards.
The remaining 14, or 38%, contained “inappropriate or insufficient information”, the experts found.
