Idan Ofer has pulled off a quick profit on a capesize after flipping the ship to Songa Bulk just six months after buying the former Hanjin Shipping vessel.
Ofer’s Eastern Pacific Shipping has sold the 179,000-dwt Mount Meru (built 2009) to the Norwegian public company, brokers tell TradeWinds.
A price just short of $28m has been secured for the Hyundai-built capesize in a deal that comes at the end of a month of sharp price rises for dry cargo tonnage.
