Polys Hajioannou company Safe Bulkers has won the race for a vessel being sold off in Singapore.
US-listed Safe had scooped the 91,900-dwt Americana (built 2010), TradeWinds understands.
The firm was not immediately available to comment on information by market sources that it had secured the ship.
As TradeWinds reports in its paper edition today, 10 bids were received when the Greek-owned Americana went under the hammer in Singapore last Friday.
