The Nasdaq-listed owner of seven bulkersposted a comprehensive net loss of $2.4m in the three months to 30 June, versusa gain of $1.7m in the comparable period 12 months ago, as net revenue fell to$4.9m from $6.9m year-on-year.

Included in the results, which were negativelyimpacted by the drydocking of two vessels, was a $1.7m write-down linked to a fueland redelivery dispute with Allied, the former charterer of the 56,867-dwt StarGlobe (built 2010).

In the Athens-based company’s earnings report chiefexecutive George Karageorgiou assured investors that it still committed to clawingback damages through legal proceedings but admitted the process will likely be “protracted”.

Globus used the release to confirm reports that it had chartered the 72,900-dwt Tiara Globe (built 1998) to Noor Shipping Services of the UAE for three to six months at a gross rate of $9,000 per day. The fixture is scheduled to start in mid-September.
