Serial dealmaker George Economou has emerged as the buyer of a 2014-built kamsarmax from the fleet of United Ocean Group. At the same time, trustees of the troubled Japanese group have continued the shakeout of its fleet, selling a second vessel in quick succession.
The Tsuneishi-built, 81,000-dwt United Ocean (built 2014) was initially believed to have been committed for $23m to Greece’s Atlas Maritime.
