Three sets of LNG ship-to-ship transfer equipment have been ordered as Arctic liquefaction project Yamal LNG starts to put in place its plan for cargo transshipments off northern Norway.
TradeWinds has learned that the project’s vessel charterer, Yamal Trade, has contracted the kit priced at around $1m per set from manufacturers.
Sources told TradeWinds that kick-off meetings have been held with shipping company Tschudi, which has been signed up to help develop a temporary transshipment area for Yamal’s Arc7 LNG carrier fleet off Kirkenes in northern Norway, close to the Russian and Finnish borders.
