Wessels Reederei launched its first feeder containership fuelled by LNG for sea trial, the company said.
The 1,036-teu Wes Amelie (built 2011) has been at a Bremerhaven dry dock since May 2017 undergoing an LNG engine conversion. The Haren-based shipowner announced the project back in 2015.
Nauticor, a unit of industrial gas giant Linde, provided initial LNG bunkering at the port of Bremerhaven.
