Wartsila, GTT, WinGD forge alliance on LNG fuel

Shipping technology companies Wartsila, GTT and WinGD are teaming up to boost the provision of LNG as a fuel.

They aim to collaborate on making using the gas a "truly viable option for shipowners and operators."

LNG has virtually no sulphur content and produces 80% less nitrogen oxide (NOx) and 30% fewer CO2 emissions than conventional fuel, the companies said.
