Spot rates for VLGCs in the US Gulf Coast were firmer toward the end of the week as charterers sought out available ships in anticipation of exports starting again.
Hurricane Harvey has halted all LPG cargo activity out of the Texas coast since last Friday. Pareto analysts say about 500,000 metric tonnes of LPG were delayed by the storm.
Brokers say that works out to between 10 and 12 VLGC cargoes facing delays.
