LPG shipping companies are seeing the best rates of the year thanks to high demand to send cargoes to the Far East.
For the becnchmark Middle East-to-Japan voyage, Clarksons says spot rates for very large gas carriers (VLGCs) hit $25,000 per day on 20 July, a jump from $19,900 per day reported a week earlier.
"Owners appear to have built up a head of steam as far as rates are concerned," Clarksons noted.
