Energy major Shell is preparing to restart exports from its huge floating LNG (FLNG) production unit Prelude FLNG off north-west Australia with two vessels inbound to the floater.
Eikland Energy data service iGIS/LNG told TradeWinds that the 147,608-cbm steam turbine vessel Symphonic Breeze (built 2007) arrived at the FLNG unit’s location.
LNG industry experts commented that liquefaction plants often use older LNG tonnage when starting or restarting units in case of debris within the system that might damage a vessel’s tanks.
