Transgas Shipping sold the 6,000-cbm Virgen Maria B(ex- Sapphire Star, built 1991) for scrap and the Peruvian owner’s president says the unit has already set sail for Alang.

While the rate is well above the current market average he notes the ship was equipped to carry LPG, ethylene and chemicals, which means it contained more stainless steel than other types of tonnage.
