Energy major Total has delivered its first shipment of carbon neutral LNG.
The French company said it loaded a cargo at the Ichthys LNG plant in Australia and delivered it to Chinese National Offshore Oil Corp (CNOOC) at the Dapeng LNG terminal in China's Guangdong province on 29 September.
Total said the carbon footprint of the LNG shipment was offset with verified carbon standards (VCS) emissions certificates which finance two projects.
