Energy major Total is considering laying up one of its under-repair LNG carriers, which has experienced a range of technical issues throughout its lifetime.

TradeWinds understands that Total is expected to idle the 154,472-cbm LNG Unity (ex-Provalys, built 2006).

The 14-year-old vessel went into Damen Shiprepair Brest’s yard in north-western France in July 2019 for repairs during its intermediate survey, ahead of the renewal of its secondary barrier tightness certificate for its CS1 LNG cargo containment system.
