Tokyo Gas became the latest big buyer to signal it wants more flexibility to trade LNG in global markets.

The move to increase destination flexibility for LNG cargoes has been cited by Poten & Partners as helping tonne-mile demand.

In public comments during a business briefing, company president Michiaki Hirose said Tokyo Gas has "no intention of signing new contracts unless the destinations are free."
