Two LNG carriers were in position off the coast of Norway early this week as they prepared to make a historic transshipment for Russia’s Yamal LNG project.

Sovcomflot (SCF Group)’s 170,200-cbm Pskov (built 2014) and the 172,600-cbm newbuilding Vladimir Rusanov — the Arc7, Yamal project vessel — were shown to be off the Honningsvag coast accompanied by tugs.

The Vladimir Rusanov was laden with a cargo loaded at Yamal’s Sabetta terminal, while the Pskov arrived in ballast after discharging at the Gate LNG facility in Rotterdam.
