Energy major Shell has gone out to selected shipowners with a tender for LNG carriers to take on charter.
Industry sources said the company is seeking two firm ships in the 170,000-cbm size range and is open to the types of propulsion system that it will consider.
There was talk among market players that the company may look at both newbuildings and existing modern vessels.
