A second non-Arc7 LNG carrier has been given the go-ahead to transit the Northern Sea Route (NSR) as Russia details spending plans designed to increase LNG shipments through the Arctic waterway.
The NSR Administration has granted permission for Dynagas’ 155,000-cbm Yenisei River (built 2015) to transit the passage over a six-month period from 25 August.
This week, the Arc4 ice-class LNG carrier was shown on ship tracking data as heading north into the Sea of Japan.
