Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) has won newbuilding contract worth KRW 250bn ($221m) for a FSRU from a Japanese-led consortium.
The 170,000-cbm gas carrier will eventually be deployed to deliver LNG to a gas-fired power plant planned for Indonesia.
The South Korean shipbuilder said the FSRU will be equipped with its newly developed in-house regasification system, the S-Regas (GI).
TradeWinds had previously reported that the shortlist for the contract had been reduced to SHI and compatriot Hyundai Heavy Industries.
