Energy conglomerate Sahara Group has been named as the buyer of two dual-fuel midsize gas carrier newbuildings at Hyundai Mipo Dockyard (HMD).
Last week, HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering disclosed that subsidiary HMD had signed a contract for a pair of 40,000-cbm LPG carriers with an unnamed “European shipper”.
It did not reveal the price, but brokers following Hyundai shipbuilding activities said the duo was ordered by Dubai-based Sahara Group and will cost around $71m each.
