Russia's transport ministry is not yet providing unconditional permission for foreign-owned vessels to transit the Northern Sea Route (NSR).
The exceptions to this are the 15 foreign-flagged LNG carriers under contract with Yamal LNG.
Transport minister Yevgeny Ditrikh said during a meeting on the development of the Arctic that a draft resolution for these ships is being drawn up, according to the Interfax news agency.
